The sketch had actors “robbing” the data disc meant for the launch. After it was retrieved, Information Minister Datuk Paduka Abdul Kadir Sheikh Fadzir launched the event at the KL Tower. The new logo and tagline Saluran Infotainmen Anda (Your Infotainment Channel) was later beamed on the KL Tower. Abdul Kadir said the channel would bring viewers to a new broadcasting era as its infotainment concept was to air reliable and precise pieces.

Later at a press conference, he said the 6pm news would have a new format while the primetime Bahasa Malaysia news would feature non-Malay readers.
A new Cantonese series will also be launched while Gerak Khas will be moved from TV2 to TV1.
